A photography workshop taking place in enchanting and undeniably charming locations.

Val d'Orcia is, however, a highly popular place for photography, and even though several iconic locations will be included in our shooting sessions, we will particularly focus on composition and all technical stuff.

The primary goal of the workshop is to provide the theoretical and practical tools to develop your photographic vision, expand your knowledge, and shape your style.

Much space will also be given to night photography when we will be able to photograph the Milky Way in some marvellous locations.

This photography workshop is suitable for all levels, although familiarity with the camera and basic photography knowledge may be helpful.

• Practical field experience among the wonders of Val d'Orcia and Crete Senesi.

  
  

• Several photo sessions, including sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights, where you can admire and photograph the Milky Way.

  
  

• We'll dedicate the entire workshop to composition in photography, planning, observing the environment, and how to develop it into creative photography ideas.

  
  

• You will learn fundamental techniques for landscape photography, from long exposures to bracketing when needed to achieve multiple exposures, the use of ND and GND filters, and, most importantly, I will guide you to make decisions when lighting conditions change rapidly, such as at sunrises and sunsets.

  
  

• We will examine situations where techniques like focus bracketing are useful and how to manage it when editing (focus stacking).

  
  

• We will then focus on night photography (2 sessions), shooting techniques, how to focus on stars, and we will introduce advanced and creative techniques like light painting.

  
  

• I will show the use a star-tracker to "capture" stars with much longer shutter speeds. Pros and cons.

  
  

• Editing session during the workshop (with a recording that will be sent to participants) and a review of the shots taken in the following days.

• Transportation will be by own vehicle. Of course, participants can group in order to travel together to the different locations and share a car to reduce the number of vehicles.

  
  

• Meals are not included. You can choose to dine together or independently.

Workshop program:

Friday: Meeting at 3:00 PM and check-in at the hotel.

We will have a sunset session; dinner; a night session to photograph the Milky Way.

Saturday: We will have a sunrise session. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Editing session. After lunch, we will head out again to scout and plan for photo opportunities, staying until sunset. After dinner, we will spend a few more hours on night photography.

Sunday: We will have a sunrise session before returning to the hotel for breakfast.

The workshop will end at 11:00 a.m. with check-out from the hotel.
