Where are we going?

We are going to hit all the northern coast of Spain. The tour will start with the coast of País Vasco and its typical flysch rock formation.

Then we will move along the Costa Quebrada alongside the Cantabrian Sea, with so many gorgeous seastacks and endless photo opportunities.

After that, we are going to set foot in the Asturias, a natural paradise where we will go through some amazing and unique beaches. Finally, we will get to wild coast of Galicia. Here we will experience beaches changing continuously due to the alternation of tides.

Programma Viaggio

Itinerary

Day 1: arriving at Bilbao and checking in at the hotel. In the evening, we will have the chance to get around in the city for some shots and having dinner, while briefing for the following days.

Day 2: We will visit several locations along the Basque coastline admiring its typical flysch formations. We will be doing both a sunrise and sunset photo session.

Day 3: The we will move to Cantabria in a breathtaking location, Playa de Arnía e Urros de Liencres where we will be shooting at majestic seastacks both at sunset and surise from different spots.

Day 4 e 5: Continuing along the coastline we are going to go through the Asturias and its countless beaches, including Playa del Silencio. Here we will be staying for two nights and go through an editing lesson in which we will discuss about the correct workflow and handling of the RAW file.

Day 6 e 7: Then will then move towards Galicia. A coastlin dominated by the tides that constantly transform the landscape. We'll enjoy marvelous lighthouses that mark the nighttime. Here, if we're lucky, we'll be able to photograph the Milky Way and unleash our creativity.

Day 8: We will travel further west to experience the pristine nature of Galicia. We will go from lighthouses perched on cliffs overlooking the sea to more remote and captivating locations, hoping for epic sunrises and sunsets.

Day 9: We will then be heading eastbound for the return, but before reaching Bilbao we'll stop once again in Asturias, where other wonderful locations will be awaiting for us, and why not, we'll dive again in some night photography.

Giorno 10: We will get back to Bilbao. In the afternoon, we will visit an iconic place: San Juan de Gaztelugatxe where we will be staying till sunset to conclude our photo tour with a bang. You will certainly be amazed by this location.

Which topics are we going to cover?

We will cover fundamentals such as:

Photo Planning: weather conditions, quality and directionality of light and how to foresee it even before being on the location.
Composition and "scene reading". A fundamental aspect of landscape photography.
Photo Techniques, such as long expositions and the use of filters fotografici (ND/GND/Polirizer).
Advanced techniques such as double expositions (with or without bracketing).
Focus bracketing and focus stacking during editing (with Photoshop). When it's needed. Pros and Cons.
Reading and managing natural light.
Night Photography: basic and advanced techniques such as the light painting and the use of a star-tracker.
Editing session with Lightroom and Photoshop. We will go through some workflow to manage a RAW file.

The fee includes a deposit (€750) and the remaining balance to be paid within 45 days before the start of the tour.

Once the trip is confirmed, you can request cancellation and receive a full refund of the deposit (€750) within 90 days before the start of the tour.

When the tour is confirmed, in case you are unable to participate the amount you have already paid will be refunded only if we are able to replace your booking with a new participant (minus any expenses already incurred and not recoverable).

Who's this photo tour for?

This trip is for all landscape and nature photography enthusiasts.

The physical effort required is not excessive. There will be easy walks, sometimes with steps and some elevation changes to reach the beaches, but nothing particularly strenuous.

Sometimes we will be walking into the water if possible (with low tide) to find some good spots.

In these cases, waterproof boots will be useful.

This photo tour requires a certain level of adaptability to weather conditions (which are highly variable on the coast of northern Spanish) and the marine environment, which is often affected by winds and tides.

Professional landscape and nature photographer
